Rio Grande, Corrales – A tranquil setting with a short nature walk to the water; ideal for focused instruction and practice.
Tingley Beach, Albuquerque – Great for casting practice with opportunities to catch stocked trout and bass.

to start creating your own effective flies, including the same guide-proven patterns we rely on every day on the water.
You’ll not only learn how to tie them but also exactly how and when to fish them for success.
Tool Setup & Materials Basics
Learn how to use essential tools like the vise, bobbin, and scissors.
Along with an introduction to common materials such as feathers, fur, and synthetics.
Thread Control & Foundations
Master the fundamentals of thread tension, wraps,
and proportions key to building durable, clean flies.
Tying Guide-Proven Patterns
