Do I need a Fishing License?

Yes, you will need a New Mexico State Fishing License. You can purchase them online at

However, if you are attending our LEARN TO FLY FISH CLASS or a PRIVATE WATERS Trip,

purchasing a license is not required.

Will we be catching fish during the LEARN TO FLY FISH Class?

While the Local Rio Grande River offers an excellent learning environment for our beginners, it does not provide much opportunity to catch fish.

I've never fly-fished from a kayak. Is it difficult?

Our Kayaks serve as a means of transportation. They help us cover much more water than what would be available on foot. Depending on your comfort level, we can float and fish or dock and wade. Rest assured, we will spend the time needed to work with any individual for a successful day on the water.

Can I keep my fish?

We are in support of catch and release. However, depending on State Regulations, if you feel inclined to keep a fish or two on your trip, please come prepared.

Do I need Waders?

This will be dependent on the time of year and location. Summertime allows for wet wading. It's a nice way to help keep cool in the high temps.

Do you provide the Waders?

We ask that you bring your own waders. We are looking to include these in the future.

Where do we meet?

We offer a full-service experience. This means we can coordinate a pick-up location or meet out on the water,  whichever is most convenient for you.

Is there cell service in the area?

Some parts of NM waters have coverage but don't count on it.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellations made 7 days or more before the Trip date, will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 3 - 6 days will incur a 20% fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event will incur a 50% fee.
